I chose to shoot food for this week. I was having trouble getting good photos of the food I have, but I learned that by changing your angles, the picture can become more interesting. I tried to shoot at a lot of different angles to get the best photo possible, and in some ways it worked. I also think that by having colors to the picture will make it more interesting, because some food can look boring when it is plain.
In this photoshop assignment, we were asked to edit a picture of a car. We did many things to edit it and make it look better and I learned lots of new things. I learned how to use the clone stamp tool to cover up unwanted colors in the picture. I learned all the different options of selection and how to remove the background and I learned how to tint certain things using selection and levels.
I chose to shoot the nature category for my photo assignment. I went to Mill Pond Park and I thought the photos wouldn't turn out because it had just rained, but that wasn't the case. I found really cool things that had been rained on and it added a nice effect to the picture. I learned to find cool/unusual things to take pictures of and if you take a close-up picture of something, use the macro settings. I chose to shoot macro photos for this photo assignment. I took many photos using the macro settings and I learned lots of new things. One of the things I learned is while in the macro settings, I still found the pictures to get blurry easily, so it's important to have the right shutter speed because if you move the picture will become blurry easier because you're so close to the subject. In this photoshop assignment, we were asked to create a pop art image on photo shop. We had to use a picture we took of someone and crop it into a square. After doing that, we turned the image into a black and white photo, made four copies, and then changed the colors. The four colors are red, green, blue and yellow to create an Andy Warhol looking picture. This was my first time using photoshop to create a nice image and I learned many things. I learned how to sharpen the image by changing the amount, radius, and threshold and adjusting the photo. I learned how to duplicate a photo and change the colors by changing the hue, saturation and lightness. Overall, I learned many new things.
For this weeks photo assignment, I chose to shoot animals. I don't have a huge variety of animals at my house (3 cats.) By taking many pictures of my cats and other animals I could find, I learned that you have to be patient with animals and make sure you have all your settings adjusted correctly before shooting, because they can move and mess up the picture easily. Overall, I had fun doing this shoot, I think it would've turned out better if I had more animals to shoot, but in the end, it came out good. Lately in digital photography, we've been working on 2 composition assignments. We had to go out and take multiple pictures for each 11 categories, and then choose the best one for each category. I learned not only the 11 composition, but to branch out and go to odd places to take pictures. I found some of the best pictures in places where people wouldn't have thought to go. I also learned how to upload pictures and add text to my blog. Hello, my name is Griffin Leslie and this is my first year in a digital photography class. I don't know much about digital photography, but I'm excited to learn lots this year. Some of my hobbies include playing volleyball, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. I've been playing volleyball for 3 years and I play for SHS and Legacy volleyball club. When I'm not traveling for volleyball, I'm traveling all over the place. Some of my favorite places I've traveled to are Mackinaw Island, Higgins Lake, 3 Sister Springs, and Tahquamenon Falls. My family includes My parents and my brother Jake. I'm looking forward to this 2016 school year.
